We make great pets.

May got her very first pet last weekend. He's a betta fish. She named him Jesus. We are becoming quite fond of him.

The only other pets that we have had were Josie and Oscar. About a year after marriage, Chad and I decided we needed a furry baby. First was Josie the kitty. We rescued her from the pound, and she died two days later from kennel disease. We were soooo sad. Then to fill the void we found Oscar. He was a silly, fluffy, mischievous kitty. After about a year of coughing and sneezing, I finally admitted that I was allergic to him. We found him a nice home with nice people to love him. We miss Oscar.

Ollie giggles.

At 3 1/2 months Oliver is giggling. It might be the cutest thing ever, er wait, was that May's dance recital? I'm starting to get confused, there's way too much cute going on around here. Anyways, Ollie is such a sweet baby, and all it takes is the tiniest bit of attention to get some big smiles from him. He had his first cold this week. All he did was sleep, smile, cough, and eat We love this guy, even the dark circles under my eyes love this guy.

Chad's biggest fan.

Chad made a tree swing for May. She LOVES it! Any chance she gets, she's on it. Whenever she's on it, we get to witness PURE happiness.

If it were in the backyard I might let her live on it all summer.

Daddy's little dancer.

Just a warning, this is possibly the cutest thing ever. Last week was May's very first dance recital. They performed one ballet dance and one tap dance.

Although she had her moments, May really loved going to dance class each week with her best buddy Ella.

Before the performance, we all met at the theater for a run-through of the dances. May got a little scared when she saw how dark it was backstage. Her teacher was a little worried about her, knowing from class how nervous she is being away from mommy, so she let me stay backstage where May could see me while performing.

I can't lie, I cried a little when she went on the big stage for her first dance. She was so excited and proud of herself. We are proud too, especially daddy. Here's a little video from the practice. Ella is closest to the camera, and May is right next to her.

Ohhh Man, It's Time to go Private.

I really don't want to do this, but everyone's getting me all freaked out. In a few weeks I'm going to make our blog private. Please, please comment with you're email address if you'd like to continue reading. And don't be shy, just tell me who you are, even if you are my sister's-friends-brother's-dog's-walker, I understand, I'm a blog stalker too. I love to have readers but just want to be a little more cautious.

In case you were wondering

This is what happens when a 3 year old really doesn't want to take a nap. I have told her that if she isn't sleepy, she can have quiet time in her room. Looks to me like those dress-ups really wore her out. At least she didn't decide to cook lotion in her play kitchen like last time, it was EVERYWHERE! We love this crazy girl.

Her latest funny talk: "Hey mom, I'm eating my rice with my fingers, that's how I roll."

Upgrade or Downgrade?

Since Chad and I were first married, we always wanted a Honda Element. We finally bought one in 2006 when May was born. Everyone thought we were crazy, mostly because everyone thought they were ugly. Despite everyone's feelings, we absolutely loved our car. It was sooo perfect for our little family, and it was sooo perfect for the beach (with a totally sweepable and cleanable interior). We LOVED that car!

Then we had another baby. The Element was still a rad car, but it only sat four, and the clamshell doors were making me crazy when trying to get two kids in and out of a tight parking spot. I've always thought sliding doors were a genius invention, and we love Honda, so what would be more perfect than a Honda Odyssey? So once again everyone thinks we are crazy, but I LOVE my minivan! I think all of the mom's driving those gigantic SUV's are totally jealous when they see me open my sliding doors with the touch of a button! Suckers.

Oh yeah, and Chad is still driving my old 1995 Accord, the car I drove when I was 16. It's still alive and kicking. That's just one reason why we love Honda. (Or maybe Chad wishes it would just die already. What a good sport!)
